Its primary business was, until the 1960's, the brokerage of farm properties in the counties around Cook County, Illinois. During the 1960's and 1970's, it began to actively broker development real estate involving thousands of farm and development properties.

In the 1980's the Company expanded its business IT exam material to include the development of luxury single-family homes and communities. In the 1990's L. B. Andersen & Co., Inc. again expanded its business to include the ownership and management of office retail and industrial buildings. Today, L.B.
